flyer header

The boomer generation is rejecting the old models of retirement by:

Living in intentional communities of friends

Maintaining private homes but sharing common spaces

Participating in an active compassionate community where people care

Avoiding isolation and depression often so rampant in later life

Connecting to vital, dynamic neighborhoods

Living lighter on earth by walking to needed services and entertainment

Why is this movement rapidly spreading around the world?  Hear from the expert Kathryn McCamant who, with her partners, have launched more than 50 cohousing projects in North America.  “Creating Community: Boomers do it Better” is the title of her free presentation as she reviews the benefits and experiences of cohousing. Cohousing opportunities in Portland will be highlighted along with description of a newly forming cohousing project in North Portland.
